New addition!

Meet Koa! She's a Siberian Husky, German Shepard mix. As soon as Misha and I saw her at the pound, we knew she would make a perfect fit in our family. It did not take long for Jordi to warm up to her new sister! And, as evidence of the following picture, they've been playing with each other non-stop since we brought her home!

Wise decisions...

Misha and I spent the better part of the weekend at the local animal shelter looking at dogs. We are contemplating adopting another. There are so many animals that need loving homes, that if we were to get another, a shelter dog (as Jordi was) would be our only logical option. As of late, we are weighing the pros and cons of such an important decision.

Things I've noticed.

1. Throughout my lifetime I am constantly reminded that there are judgemental, hypocritical bigots in this world, this is only the latest example: "Officer cites female driver for not speaking English"

2. A big congratulations to my best friend Mike for his OVERALL win today at the Tinfoilman Triathlon in Tucson!!

3. JK was spot on in her post here about being married to an Ironman athlete. I need no reminder of how critical my beloved wife is to all that I am and do.

The Niggle

A few weeks ago I began to feel an annoying tightness in my left hamstring. I would not call it as an injury, more like an nagging tickle (nagging tickle = "niggle"). Although it did not cause me to slow down or miss any training, my left hamstring was still a concern on every run and ride. I've been diligently taking care of this thing, knowing full well that if not attended to it could turn into something worse. I'm happy to report that this week I've had three runs with zero signs of the niggle, including a 19 miler.
